Past Event - November Luncheon (In Person/Virtual) - The Role of Daring Leaders in Project Management

Kentuckiana Chapter Meeting – November 15, 2022

Topic: The Role of Daring Leaders in Project Management

Abstract

Project management is a highly skilled trade focused on delivering results through managing every aspect of project execution. Managing the tasks is often straightforward - the way people on the project show up and respond under stress is often the unpredictable variable. People are the strength of the project and often the pain point of a project. Leveraging Brene Brown’s Dare to Lead book, we’ll look at how we can show up and lead people through their stressful situations. It’s about managing the tasks and the people doing the tasks.

Learning Objectives

  • Discuss our obligation if we consider leadership the balance of task and the people doing the tasks
  • Discuss Brene Brown’s approach to daring leadership
  • Articulate how you want to show up to a stressful leadership situation
  • Practice managing a team member through a stressful situation so you can refocus on getting results
  • Plan through giving a team member a way out with dignity from a stressful situation
